Plug-in are off to the Big Apple for the annual KidScreen Summit event in February 2011. This giant networking event and award ceremony is reknown for being the largest and most important conference in the world for the children’s entertainment industry. Last year KidScreen welcomed over 1,500 attendees from over 43 countries, all meeting to pitch their wares, discuss issues that affect the industry, as well as to take advantage of being at one of the largest networking events of the year.

This year Plug-in is going to New York with PACT, the UK Independent Producers Alliance, of which we are members. We’ve got ourselves a place on the UKTI-sponsored trade mission PACT has organised. Selected companies are offered one-on-one mentoring throughout the event to make sure we get as much out of the 4-day adventure as possible, as well as the opportunity to attend an exclusive reception at the British Consulate.

We’re hoping to make the most of the business opportunities KidScreen generates but we’re also really looking forward to the glittering award ceremony: the Kidscreen Awards. We were nominated for Big and Small last year, but this year we have no less than TWO nominations: both Driver Dan’s Story Train and ZingZillas: Big Coconut Adventure have made it to the pre-school category shortlist, for best companion website. Fingers crossed!
