Plug-In Media’s Creative Director Dominic Minns is off to ‘dominate’  Toronto’s INplay 2011 this month. Dom has been chosen to speak at the conference on a panel of experts that have been gathered to discuss the term “transmedia” and whether today’s approach to developing cross-platform media is rendering it obsolete. This debate-style discussion will have 4 panelists, divided into two camps, one side serving as advocate of the word, the other taking a contrary view (that will be Dom then!). The audience gets to decide which side wins the debate, based on a mix of “funny and fact”.

Dom’s entertaining approach will surely fit the tone of INPlay 2011. This huge 2-day conference is all about the joy of play within the children’s entertainment industry and ‘players’ from all over the world are attending from game developers to child psychologists.

The event is taking place 17th-18th May and will be held in the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in downtown Toronto lakefront. This grand building is adorned with 27 foot high ceilings, chandeliers and period furnishings as well as the amazing view of Toronto’s Lakefront. Whilst we’ve taken many a trip to the United States, Canada remains unchartered territory for the Plug-ins – so we’re really looking forward to spreading the word and sharing the work we do.

If you’re going to be at INPlay 2011 make sure you catch Dom’s debate or get in touch if you’d like to arrange a meeting or err… a beer!
