It’s time yet again for The Children’s Media Conference. We’ll be up in Sheffield throughout the conference, meeting up with the rest of the children’s media industry. As always, we’ll be curating some of the sessions as well – read on for details.

This year, Plug-in Media are involved in the creation of five sessions on the CMC timetable. The first of these is produced by Carys and is called ‘Culture for Kids Goes Digital‘. Here you can hear about how arts organisations are using technology to reach out to kids, and get them creating too. This is at 11am at HUBS The Stage on Wednesday.

You can also see Juliet talking about our recent VR app, Angie’s Party, and the future of VR as a medium. She’ll be speaking at ‘VR 101‘ with other experienced VR creators, so this is the place to be if you want to know where the technology is headed. This session is at 11:10 at Showroom Cinema 3 on Wednesday.

Later on Wednesday, Juliet is the Executive Producer of the session ‘Mapping Data, Building an Audience‘ at 15:40 in Showroom Cinema 2.

After an evening of networking and partying as only the children’s media industry knows how, it’s an early start on Thursday with ‘Connected Toy Story‘ at 09:40 in Showroom Cinema 2. Juliet is the Executive Producer for this talk about connected toys, such as Lego Dimensions and Disney Infinity. Come along and discover what the latest trends are, and how they’re changing.

Plug-in’s final session of the conference is ‘Minecraft University‘, produced by James. Here you will find out how Minecraft is being used as a teaching tool and how to overcome the challenges faced when kids are more capable at using the tool than the teacher! This is at 12:45 on Thursday in the HUBS Common Room.

It’s a jam packed conference week for us – as well as running these sessions we’re hoping to learn so much from the other talks on the agenda and catch up with the industry too. If you’d like to get in touch, please email us: and we’ll see if we can find the time to meet. We hope you enjoy conference and can make it to one of our sessions.
