Intern Games Developer (Unity, Flash, JavaScript)

  • Plug-in Media is looking to find an Intern Games Developer to come and work in our busy studio in the heart of central Brighton, just a block from the station, in the North Laine area. We have a full slate of diverse and exciting gaming projects across several technologies, and are looking for some extra development support across these projects over the next couple of months.

Plug-in Media is a triple-BAFTA winning production studio with a reputation for producing work of the highest quality. We make games, apps and other interactive experiences for an enviable international client list consisting of the biggest names in entertainment both across the UK and in the USA.

As our Intern Games Developer, you’ll have great enthusiasm for the games industry, and ideally some provable experience developing with a number of technologies - Unity and Flash, including (ideally) HTML5/JavaScript and some platform native tools: XCode, C++, Java and Eclipse. You’ll know that mobile platform knowledge is as critical (if not more so) than desktop, and that today’s developer is something of a ‘jack of all trades’ where specific tools are concerned.

    Key responsibilities:

You will play an important role within our development team, working to deliver games and apps on the web and mobile devices. Essential experience & skills:

  • - Demonstrable game development experience using Flash (AS3) and Unity
  • - Good understanding of object orientated programming
  • - Good skills in managing assets with Flash Professional and Unity
  • - A good grasp of basic physics for games (vectors, forces and particles)
  • - A team player with good communication skills
  • - An insatiable hunger for developing existing talents in game development and design
  • Desirable experience & skills:

  • - Experience in writing and debugging scripts in JavaScript, C#, Java, C++ and Objective-C
  • - Some understanding of 3D game development
  • - Some knowledge of version control systems, particularly SVN
