BIG BILLY LITTLE BILLY: THERE'S A PANDA IN THE TREE

Client: Nick Jr.

Following feedback from the US Nick Jr. testing process that our previous pilot, Here Come the Billies should be developed for a younger audience of 3-5-year-olds, work began translating the show for a younger audience and, this time, focusing on a new curriculum all about oppositional concepts. This resulted in our second fully animated, 11-minute pilot, There’s A Panda In The Tree.

Working with long-term writing partner, Jasper Gibson, Dom came up with a storyline based on our two intrepid billy goat heroes attempting to rescue a certain Scottish Panda, who is stuck up a tree after a disastrous attempt to demonstrate how a seesaw works.

We took on storyboarding, animatic and design in-house before shipping the project to our A Productions in Bristol. Dom directed the project across the work in Brighton and Bristol and worked with his songwriting partners to write and perform the music for the show, which was voiced by SpongeBob’s Tom Kenny and Family Guy’s Audrey Wasilewski.

We’re terribly proud of these engaging and funny pilots, and believe that they’re great examples of our creative development and animation skills.
