MAKE A SCENE: MAKE IT POP

Client: Nickelodeon

We were given another opportunity to excel at HTML5 development by Nickelodeon in the UK, when they asked us to make a new web app for their site! Using characters from their new live action TV show Make it Pop, we’ve created an animated sticker experience that enables fans of the show to quite literally Make a Scene!

It’s another creative app from Plug-in Media, but not as we’ve seen before. Players can receive inspiration for their project from the ‘Scene Starter’ feature before choosing a location, and then the fun really begins. Users pull characters from the trays into the scene, position them to their liking, and watch as they react to props and other characters in their environment. We’ve also made loads of themed stickers and speech bubbles, to help players really get into the storytelling.  You really can imagine your favourite characters in limitless combinations and settings.

One very special feature that we have implemented is the ability to download an animated .gif file of your screen. Whilst our previous HTML5 art tools have allowed a snapshot to be quickly downloaded to the user’s device, Make a Scene downloads a miniature movie of how the characters were reacting when the button was pressed! Click on our final two screenshots above to see just how cool this feature is.

Of course, being an HTML5 project, this experience works cross platform and is playable on computers, mobile phones, tablets – any device running a modern browser. You can try it for yourself by selecting the link above!

One of the application’s other unique features is that it can be easily re-skinned and we’ve re-versioned this application for more Nickelodeon live action shows: The Thundermans and Bella and the Bulldogs.
