TWIDDLEBUG CHORUS Client: Sesame Workshop
A WHACK-A-MOLE MUSIC BOX EXPERIENCE
We created Twiddlebug Chorus as a companion piece to Bert and Ernie’s Printmaker. For this game we were back to old territory as we set about creating a new, muppet-themed music app.
There are plenty of examples of interactive tone matrixes out there on the internet – however, the Plug-in spin is that a tone matrix is much more fun with a cute character involved! Ant Chorus was always one of our favourite games in ZingZillas and Sesame Workshop wanted to see how far we could extend the concept. Sesame’s Twiddlebugs were the obvious choice here and we knew that they would be the perfect muppet to poke their heads out of a series of holes and sing in something that might just approach harmony!
In freeplay mode you can simply click the Twiddlebugs on and off to hear them sing. The playhead cycles across and the active Twiddles will chime. Directed play mode (select the orange button) adds another dimension to the game. In this mode, you must click the Twiddlebug as it peeks its head out of the hole. It will then become activated and you can use the active Twiddles to create a song – it’s like combining a musical box with Whack-a-Mole!
There are three songs to play: Three Blind Mice, Rubber Ducky, Yankee Doodle Dandy and Three Blind Mice – go on give it a try!
